A great adventure has ended thanks to our two Peruvian partners.
Every year there are intense periods of sharing, solidarity was created and strengthened.
A beautiful pair : Katia and Elith for whom solidarity is a value that counts.
From afar we followed their various journeys and closer we participated.
After the events organized by Katia, Elith and her team went to the mountains to visit and connect with people in very precarious circumstances to give them packages filled with food and other items..
Shortly before the start of the school year, the distribution of backpacks with school supplies took place.
They were given to young people from the most difficult families.
Sharing is not what goes over the plate but rather what is essential to us.
Our essential as Elith says so well :
what is the essence of life? : serve others and do good
Everyone has a place on earth ; every life has meaning.
The meaning, we often find it when we share, when we open ourselves to the relationship.
World Down Syndrome Day 20 March 2026
Comme chaque année, the Pasitos de Esperanza association and the humanitarian association QUETZALMA are pleased to invite all people with Down syndrome, as well as their families and friends, to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day together, a day dedicated to promoting inclusion, respect and recognition of the abilities of each person..
Cette année, the celebration will take place at the Activa Club, where a day full of joy will take place, integration and talent. DFootball and athletics sports competitions will be organized, to promote sportsmanship, teamwork and active participation of our young people.
We will also offer shows and artistic demonstrations, including traditional dances, rhythmic gymnastics, choreographies, taekwondo and other expressions that will showcase talent, the energy and skills of our participants.
This will be a unique opportunity to share, to celebrate diversity and reaffirm our commitment to a more inclusive society.
Les 100 first participants will receive a nice t-shirt, and there will be great backpacks, tote bags and surprise prizes.
Alex DJ will play the best music to end the afternoon with a great dancing evening.

On the occasion of World Down Syndrome Day, l’association Steps of Hope, thanks to the valuable sponsorship of Quetzalma, doesn’t just celebrate inclusion… it makes it happen.
Cette année, we are setting up a free legal module, a space created to guide, protect and empower our families.
We will offer specialized legal advice in family law and employment law, completely free, because we believe that access to justice should not be a privilege, but a right for all.
Each consultation will be an opportunity to defend rights, to answer questions and build a fairer, more inclusive future for people with Down syndrome and their families.
Because inclusion is not just celebrated… it is defended. It involves showing sensitivity, empathy and a commitment to fairness and respect in all interactions.
Fight against exclusion, it’s guaranteeing everyone a place, rights and dignity at the heart of our society.

Very often rejected, sidelined, considered inferior people, children with mental disabilities should be viewed with the same gaze as everyone else.
Children with intellectual disabilities are certainly different, but they are capable !

In Peru, people with disabilities have the same right to vote and decide the future of the country.
Their voice counts. Their participation matters.
Law no. 29973 – General Law on Persons with Disabilities recognizes their right to participate fully in political life, under equal conditions.
In view of the elections of 2026, which will take place on 12 April, the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) organizes simulations and dynamic activities to teach citizens with disabilities how to vote, thus strengthening their confidence and autonomy.As a family and as a society, let's support them in this democratic exercise, always respecting their decision and independence.
