Solidarity and Support to the Ukrainian People

Quetzlama joins forces with the international solidarity movement in favor of the populations Ukrainian hard hit by the military offensive led by Russia in Ukraine.
ORZEL convoy : It bears the name “Orzel” Eagle in Polish
This first humanitarian convoy of Civil Protection, for the Ukrainian populations, left this Sunday morning 6 March 2022, to Poland.
These are 13 heavy goods vehicles which are planned, from the national Civil Protection base, located in Strasbourg.
This exceptional convoy of several tons of donations, will transit through Germany and arrive, from Monday evening, in the city of Lublin in Poland.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Since the start of the week, thousands of volunteers are active throughout France.

Faced with an exceptional outpouring of solidarity, material donations are pouring in from all municipalities in France and Civil Protection is helping municipalities to collect donations.
Centralized at the regional level in 14 logistics bases, donations will be sent from today to the national Civil Protection base in Strasbourg, a humanitarian convoy will leave from this city.
This convoy will hit the road on Sunday and will arrive in Lublin, Poland., border area with Ukraine, and which welcomes Ukrainian refugees fleeing the war en masse. It will transport medical equipment and essential products.
In partnership with Lublin City Hall, part of the donations will be allocated to welcoming refugees.
The other part (medical equipment) will be transferred to kyiv and Lviv via a secure humanitarian corridor.
Other convoys are planned for the coming weeks.
A federal representative is already on site in Lublin to prepare the arrival of the convoy in close collaboration with the Polish authorities.
To organize the delivery of donations and the organization of convoys, Civil Protection needs significant financial support and has launched an appeal for public generosity.

Twenty-seven Civil Protection volunteers left this Sunday morning with the convoy.
The Ukrainian Ambassador to the Council of Europe, Borys Tarasyuk, present during this departure, said he was “grateful for the solidarity and humanitarian aid from the municipalities of Alsace and all of France” while more than a million of his compatriots have already taken the road of exodus.
